Dear Friends:
As you know, the planning of the reunion celebration to build the Bill and Pat Rodan Scholarship Fund—Juke Box Saturday Night ’06 is well underway. Ticket sales will defray the cost of running the event.
The scholarship fund itself, which we anticipate will have initial funding of at least $25,000, will support a yearly grant to a Lynnfield High School Senior. The scholarship will be built upon a foundation of money raised during the event by a short live auction featuring some very special items, and by donations earmarked directly for the fund.
We want to make the scholarship fund a lasting tribute to Bill Rodan for all that he has given to the children of the Town of Lynnfield, and we need your help!!! In addition to the purchasing of tickets to attend the event, we hope that you will assist us in funding the scholarship through your private donation or through your donation of an intriguing exceptional item for the live auction. The types of auction items that we are seeking are “travel and stay”, “dinner and event”, or “unique experiences” types of items. We will package donations together where it makes sense. Examples may be a week at your vacation home with transportation; tickets to a concert, a play, or a sporting event with dinner at a fine restaurant; or an all-day boating or airplane excursion.
If you knew of Bill and what he did for so many during his long tenure; if he enriched your life or had a special impact on you as a teacher or a coach; or perhaps if he gave you a B+ when you knew that you really deserved something less, we hope that you will show your gratitude by donating an auction item or by selecting a donation level and enclosing a check.
Donations of auction items as well as financial donations in the first four levels of giving will be recognized for donations in the Event Program to be distributed to each of the event attendees.
Many thanks for your support!
Best Regards,
The Giving Committee:
